Gorgeous sculptures made of shattered old CDs, computer hard drives, and other repurposed materials by sculptor and illustrator Sean Avery – a fine addition to this collection of brilliant sculptures made of recycled gadgets.

I illustrated my first book! The Accountability Effect: The book your excuses don’t want you to read ” by Bassam Tarazi.
Bassam is a positive force in the world with great ideas worth sharing. A few quotes from the forward –
“This book is for your heart of hearts, for the voice inside your head, for the person you want to be, and for the person you are scared to become. It is a battle cry to regain your center, to never give up on your dreams, and to surround yourself with those who refill your cups of life, love and gratitude.”
“What follows on these pages is direct, honest, and unapologetic, because to figure out who we are, we have to scrub off the excess layers of expectations, pop culture, peer pressure, and accepted norms that our society has laid upon us.”
I was so inspired by Bassam’s thoughtful words and because the book is so great it was a really fun and inspiring project to be a part of.
Above is our adaptive little character. You can see all the illustrations here on my flickr page and see what else our character ends up doing.
The book is available for a free download on Seth Godin’s blog until tomorrow, so check it out!

…And now I can call myself a “professional published illustrator” HOLLA! ;)

I had only been to Red Hook to go to IKEA or eat at The Good Fork (my favorite restaurant in NYC). Finally, a day trip to really explore, “the outlier near the center of the universe” - NY times. A few selects here, but you can take in all of Red Hooks charm on my flickr.

Doggling is creepy, I know. I love bulldogs. I love dogs in general. Sometimes I go to the dog park and watch them. Now, I’ve just drawn myself with a dog to deal with the fact that I just can’t have one. le sigh.

Feeling relieved. Just finish some illustrations for a book. My favorites…

My favorite pictures from my trip to Negril, Jamaica! I’m totally going back!
